Welcome To Busser's

Passing stranger! you do not know How longingly I look upon you, You must be he I was seeking, Or she I was seeking (It comes to me as a dream) I have somewhere surely Lived a life of joy with you, All is recall'd as we flit by each other, Fluid, affectionate, chaste, matured, You grew up with me, Were a boy with me or a girl with me, I ate with you and slept with you, your body has become not yours only nor left my body mine only, You give me the pleasure of your eyes, face, flesh as we pass, You take of my beard, breast, hands, in return, I am not to speak to you, I am to think of you when I sit alone or wake at night, alone I am to wait, I do not doubt I am to meet you again I am to see to it that I do not lose you.

-Walt Whitman

Quote Of The Month:
However mean your life is, meet it and live it: do not shun it and call it hard names. Cultivate poverty like a garden herb, like sage. Do not trouble yourself much to get new things, whether clothes or friends. Things do not change, we change. Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts. God will see that you do want society.
-Henry David Thoreau

December 25, 2005- Put simply, do the Santa Claus thing to your heart's content, but don't call it Christmas! For Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ our Savior, nothing more and nothing less. Christians are rightly offended when the Santa Claus fairy tale is called Christmas instead. A good and practical solution would be to move the Santa Claus holiday back to its traditional date of Dec. 6. But of course, it is highly unlikely that this will happen. Perhaps Christians should celebrate Christ's birth at another time of the year - especially since we do not know the date he was actually born. January 6 is an improvement, but it is still too close to the Santa Claus fest, in my opinion. Again, I won't hold my breath waiting for this to happen!

December 19, 2005- The Graduate is a great film and I grow to love it more with each viewing. Everything is nearly perfect about it. The script, Mike Nichols' direction, the performances of Dustin Hoffman, Anne Bancroft and Katherine Ross, the music of Simon and Garfunkel. It's funny yet dramatic, moving and profound all at the same time. A very enjoyable film all around. Modern day "Indie" music is like this throwback to the acoustic folksy rock of the 60s, so of course sounds a lot like our friends Simon and Garfunkel, who of course play the music for this wonderful movie. Also, Hoffman's hair and dress, along with his painful awkwardness and his conflict with the people who surround him ("people of society", so to speak), means that if this film was made today, it would be the Ultimate Indie Hipster Film. It's practically a Garden State, only without the cheesy happy ending and even better performances. I don't know exactly what that means, or even if it means anything at all. It's just something really interesting about how this film looks considering contemporary culture. It's not dated, per se, it's just that a lot of its motifs are weirdly similar to a cheesier and cheaper social subculture, even if it was made almost 40 years earlier.
December 16, 2005- This is Jim Furyk the most successful athlete to come out of Lancaster, my hometown. He is one of the best golfers in the world and started as a member at Media Heights in Lancaster. The inspiration for me and most golfers in this area. Mostly known for his funky swing. He has had only one teacher his dad. Finished in the top five (No. 4) on the TOUR money list for the third time in his 12-year career in a season which included his 10th TOUR win and a career-high four runner-up finishes...In July, picked up his first win since the 2003 Buick Open and since his wrist surgery in early 2004 at the Cialis Western Open. Shared the first- and third-round leads. Fell four behind leader Ben Curtis through three holes of Sunday's final round but fought back with five birdies over the remainder of the round and finished with a 2-under 69 to defeat Tiger Woods by two strokes.
December 9, 2005-Its been awile since I have updated this site, almost a year. In that year Tiger Woods has won two majors. He is well on his way to catching Jack and I'm predicting he will. I've decided that my listing of professional major winners is the only useful thing on this site. So, I'll update all the winners I've missed.
February 4, 2004-The one-second flash of Janet Jackson's breast at the Super Bowl could end up putting the brakes on years of plunging standards in the down-and-dirty entertainment industry. CBS, already facing an FCC probe for the halftime show, said it would broadcast Sunday's Grammy Awards with a five-minute delay to allow time to edit out any offensive images. It remained unclear whether Jackson, scheduled to be on the show, would appear.
December 15, 2003-"Ladies and gentlemen, we got him," US administrator Paul Bremer told journalists in Baghdad, to loud cheers from Iraqis in the audience. Saddam Hussein was found in a tiny cellar at a farmhouse about 15km (10 miles) south of his hometown Tikrit. The US said Saddam Hussein offered no resistance.
November 24, 2003- "It's the most unbelievable event the game of golf has ever seen." -- Jack Nicklaus. With those words, a man who has witnessed amazing moments in a storied career, summed up the 2003 Presidents Cup. The match ended in a tie.
October 15, 2003-This is a real picture of Kobe's acuser, Kate Faber. I want to say that I think it is absolutely ridiculous on the state of CO to keep a rape victim's name/face a secret, she is of age.

May 16, 2003-The Matrix Reloaded is as messy and flat-footed as its predecessor is nimble and shapely. It's an ugly, bloated, repetitive movie that builds to a punch line that should have come an hour earlier (at least).
April 28, 2003-It was an emotional Sunday for Fred Couples, as he captured his first PGA TOUR victory in five long years by four strokes at the Shell Houston Open. It was the perfect stage for the former University of Houston star.April 14, 2003-On Sunday, Mike Weir showed nerves of steel absent at the 1999 PGA Championship as he beat Len Mattiace with a bogey on the first hole of sudden death to win the 67th Masters Tournament.
April 21, 2003-Davis Love III made the MCI Heritage his third victory of the season Sunday after defeating Woody Austin on the fourth hole of a sudden-death playoff. It is Love's fifth career victory at this event.
April 9, 2003-In a scene of triumph and jubilation televised live throughout the world, Iraqi citizens in the heart of Baghdad -- with help from a large U.S. military vehicle -- toppled a huge statue of Saddam Hussein Wednesday and began dancing on it when it fell to the ground.
March 24, 2003-The weather was poor Sunday in Orlando, and Woods definitely was feeling under it, which is why he won the Bay Hill Invitational by only 11 shots, a record at Bay Hill Club. The winning margin, which secured his fourth straight win at Arnold Palmer's event, equaled the third largest in Woods' career, behind his 15-stroke win in the 2000 U.S. Open and his 12-stroke 1997 Masters triumph.
March 11, 2003-One clutch putt made Scott Hoch look smart for waiting overnight to continue his playoff. Three great shots that followed made him a winner Monday in the Ford Championship at Doral."Yeah, baby!" Hoch said when his 10-foot birdie putt fell.
